About MetalAlbumReviews
What We Do
MetalAlbumReviews is an editorial publication dedicated to in-depth analysis of metal's most important albums. We combine editorial curation with comprehensive analysis to produce thoughtful reviews that honor the artistry and cultural impact of metal music.
How Reviews Are Made
Our reviews are written by AI. Each one starts from the album's tracklist and release data from MusicBrainz and, where it exists, its Wikipedia article as a fact sheet for credits and history. It is written in one of our ten editorial voices, each with its own focus, such as production, lyrics, regional scenes or cultural context. The voices are perspectives, not real people.
Every review scores the album on six weighted dimensions (writing, production, delivery, cohesion, originality and replay value), and the overall rating is calculated from them. Each album is scored five times independently and the median of those runs is published. Read the full review methodology.
What Every Review Includes
- In-depth analysis covering production techniques, lyrical themes, and sonic direction.
- Track-by-track breakdown of every song on the album for readers who want the full picture.
- Standout tracks highlighting the strongest moments and why they matter.
- Genre tagging and subgenre classification to help readers discover music aligned with their tastes.
- A scorecard: six dimension scores with a reason for each, and an overall rating calculated from them.
Who Runs MetalAlbumReviews
MetalAlbumReviews is published by KRS Reklam Hizmetleri A.Ş., a media agency in Istanbul that operates as Kozmonot. Kozmonot built and runs the site, sets the review methodology and decides which albums are covered. The reviews themselves are written by AI under that methodology, as described above; no one at Kozmonot is presented as their author.
Corrections
If a review gets a fact wrong, such as a credit, a date, a track title or a quote, tell us at our contact e-mail (enable JavaScript to see it) with a link to the page. We check every report against MusicBrainz, the album's Wikipedia article and other published sources, aim to answer within seven days, and fix confirmed errors on the page.
Scores are opinions reached through the methodology, so they are not changed on request. When the methodology itself changes, the change is applied to every review, not to individual albums.
